Gugu is an almost 12-year-old boy, dreamy and passionate about soccer, who lives with his grandmother Dilma, a retired teacher who raises him with freedom and affection, unconcerned with the judgments of the town’s residents. The boy’s relationship with his father, Batista, is difficult, marked by absences, expectations, and unspoken feelings. Grandmother and grandson live alone beside the Araújo Lima dam which, after years of drought, begins to reveal the ruins of an ancient submerged town, bringing to the surface memories that changed the family’s life forever.
